Wellness Wednesday #18 – Wellness Vision: Self Love and Responsibility

Last week I decided to focus on the area of Self Responsibility and Love in order to make sure that MY wellness is a priority. I did this because I felt I have been making bad choices and allowing others’ judgements of me to influence my decision making process. I decided that I needed to be a priority in my own life.

Every semester, when teaching about wellness, I ask my students to first come up with a Wellness Vision for the semester. What would it look like for them to have a well and whole semester? I usually try to give them an example of what it would mean to me…..

Wellness Wednesday #16 – Calling for a Redo

For a few years now I have been teaching about and writing about Wellness. I have taken a Wellness Assessment more than once and tried to focus my energies on improving my 12 dimensions of wellness….it hasn’t always worked. I think it hasn’t worked as well as I would have liked because I try to fix things too quickly. I don’t give myself enough time and energy and effort on any one thing. I keep trying to approach this from a holistic attitude and not a systematic one. I fully understand that the concept of wellness is holistic, but we don’t teach it all at once, so I’m not sure why I keep trying to do it all at once?! Wellness Wednesday #13 – What’d You Say?

I just spent the last 30 minutes sending emails to students. I had to let them know what’s going to happen in class tomorrow so that they come prepared. I had to remind some of them to complete the work they were supposed to do in class on Tuesday. I had to welcome some of them who added my class late. I had to ask students to delete themselves from the online platform of the course if they have dropped my section.
